Two award winners are graduates and scientists of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geodetic Science: Dr Clemens Jonscher was honoured for his dissertation entitled "A probabilistic approach of vibration-based structural health monitoring for wind turbine towers" at the Institute of Structural Analysis (supervisor: Prof. Raimund Rolfes). Christian Grannemann, M.Sc., received the award for his master's thesis on "Uncertainty Awareness in Multi-View Stereo Reconstruction: An Efficient Evidential Deep Learning Approach" at the Institute of Photogrammetry and GeoInformation.
The event was opened by the founder, Prof. Victor Rizkallah. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Martin Achmus welcomed guests as Chairman of the Foundation. This was followed by welcoming remarks from Prof. Dr. Volker Epping, President of Leibniz University Hannover, and Dipl.- Ök. Olaf Brandes, Managing Director of the Stiftung NiedersachsenMetall.
The subsequent award ceremonies included six sponsorship awards from the Victor Rizkallah Foundation (including two awards sponsored by the Lower Saxony-Bremen Construction Industry Foundation and one award sponsored by Wilhelm Wallbrecht GmbH & Co. KG) and two sponsorship awards from the Lower Saxony Metal Foundation. A total of €4,800 in prizes was awarded.
