What do the GPS in our cars, space travel, and astronomy have in common? For all of this, it is important to know the Earth's exact rotation. The goal of the GeoWerkstatt project of the month is to cover the full spectrum of Earth rotation variations. Learn more about the power of combining laser gyro data, tracking of mirrors on the moon, and signals from distant galaxies.

Info GeoWerkstatt - Insights into research

he GeoWorkshop appears monthly here on this website. Scientists take turns reporting on their current research projects in the field of geodesy and geoinformatics. The Geodetic Institute (GIH), the Institute of Geodesy (IfE), the Institute of Cartography and Geoinformatics (IKG), and the Institute of Photogrammetry and GeoInformation (IPI) are all involved.
