City Cycling 2025: Five of around 60 participants from the "Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geodetic Science" team.

The students and staff of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geodetic Science enjoy cycling. At least, that is what the excellent results of this year's City Cycling campaign "Stadtradeln" suggest: the faculty team cycled 5,341 kilometres between 18 May and 7 June 2025, making it the strongest team at Leibniz University. The faculty team thus contributed significantly to LUH's first place in the "non-school team" category.

With a total result of 60,355 kilometres, the 302 participating employees and students of LUH fell just short of last year's result of 61,800 kilometres. LUH was awarded first place in the "Non-School Team" category by the President  of Hanover Region, Steffen Krach on Sunday, 14 September 2025. A total of more than 10,000 cyclists took part in the campaign in the Hanover region, covering around 1.95 million kilometres by bicycle.

The ‘City Cycling’ campaign "Stadtradeln" is organised by the Climate Alliance. Cyclists enter the distance they cover by bike each day in an online calendar and receive, among other things, an overview of how much CO2 they have avoided by choosing to cycle. Anyone who lives, works, goes to school or university, or is a member of a club in a city or municipality in the Hanover region can take part.
