Dr. Konstantin Zuev, a leading researcher in the areas of rare events analysis, network science and quantitative finance from California Institute of Technology, has been awarded a Humboldt Research Fellowship for Experienced Researchers. He will join the Institute for Risk and Reliability, Leibniz Universität Hannover, to collaborate with the team on a novel access to reliability analysis by harnessing recent advances in statistical, information and data sciences. The stay is planned for 2022.

"We are aiming for an increase of numerical efficiency of sampling-based rare events analysis by a magnitude which enables a fast reliability assessment of very large infrastructure systems", says Prof. Dr-Ing. Michael Beer, executive director of IRZ.
